Women of Style and Substance

On the journey of life we often meet women from different walks of life; women that touch your inner soul, women with high standards and meticulous lifestyles, women who don’t patronize, pillars of strength kind of women, women who  aim for the stars, women who’ve faced trials and failures, and most of all, WOMEN WHO HAVE THEIR OWN UNIQUE STYLE.

This Women’s Day we celebrate Women who inspire and express admiration of those stylish ones who deserve it and how!

Suchita Salwan (Entrepreneur)

Based in the chaos of Delhi, Suchita is the founder of the Little Black Book Delhi! This young woman quit her job at the BBC to live out her dream. She has a great sense of style and her creative piece (Or should we call it a one stop digital shop) is a mélange of all the things she loves about her city- the people, places, art, culture, food and lifestyle (and of course, THE FASHION) are things that moved her to pursue her passion. We give her effortless chic ways a big thumbs up!

Afrah Shafiq (Filmaker and Artist)

And then there are women who love to multitask and push themselves! Afrah is one of them – a filmmaker, writer and a stained glass mosaic artist, she’s one of the very few artists in India who do the kind of work she does. Her style is very fresh, very bohemian and full of country flavours. She loves to create art (and roaring pieces at that) and is running the game with mosaics. The proud founder of Love and Other Outdoor Games, here’s giving her the big high five!

Lisa Ray (Actor and Cancer Survivor)

This woman can run the world! She’s fought cancer, not shying away from baring all about her ups and downs in her personal and professional life, she’s been steadfast in achieving her dreams! She’s still managed to put everything behind her and start afresh and has an immaculate sense of style. She loves gold and everything yellow. Her sense of style is as distinct as her polish and Indian heritage, and so here’s a Women’s Day hug for her!

Poorna Jaganathan (Theatre Artist and Actor)

Well known in the Bombay literati circuit as the theatre actor who speaks strongly for women’s rights and has a successful career in Bollywood, she’s your all-in-one star power. Don’t believe us? Just ask the renowned Eve Ensler and she won’t stop gushing about this brave and strong woman who is all things sugar and spice (and everything nice) with a quirky sense of style.
